This policy explains what information the iOS app Entwined: Shared Calendars ("Entwined", "the app") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The app is published by Cody Turgeon ("we", "us").
With your permission, the app uses Apple's EventKit framework to read calendar events stored on your iPhone. This can include calendars you have added to the iOS Calendar app, such as Google calendars. Reading happens on your device.
For the calendars you select to share, the app uploads the following for each event:
The app does not upload event notes, locations, or attendees. Events from calendars you have not selected are not uploaded.
Please keep in mind that event titles can contain personal details (for example, "Doctor appointment"). Any event title in a calendar you share will be visible to your paired partner.
The app uses silent background push notifications only to tell your device that new shared events are ready to sync. To do this, we store your device's push token in our backend. These notifications do not display messages to you.
Entwined offers a subscription ($2.99/month or $24.99/year, or the local equivalent shown in the App Store, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers; one subscription covers both partners of a paired couple) purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system and managed with RevenueCat. We receive information about your subscription status (for example, whether it is active and when it renews or expires) and purchase history tied to your app account identifier. To give your partner the benefit of a subscription you bought, we store the date until which your subscription is active and make it visible to your partner's account (only that date, not payment details). We do not receive your payment card details; Apple handles payment.
We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, advertising identifier, or browsing history, and the app does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
We use the information above only to run the app's features:
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent your information.
To show your partner's shared events, the app creates and writes to two calendars on your device: "Entwined: Together" and "Entwined: Partner". The app writes to these dedicated calendars rather than editing your own calendars. Depending on how your device is set up, iOS may sync calendars created on the device to an account such as iCloud. The app creates them in an on-device calendar source if one exists, otherwise in the account of your default calendar (usually iCloud), in which case iOS may sync them across your devices. When you unpair or delete your account, the app removes the mirrored events and these two calendars from your device.
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the app, and only as needed for them to provide their services to us:
| Provider | What it does for Entwined | Information involved |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, and backend hosting (Postgres hosted in the United States, AWS region us-east-1) | Account ID, profile, couple membership, shared event fields listed in 1.1, push token |
| Expo push service | Delivers silent push notifications | Push token and the silent notification sent to your device |
| RevenueCat | Manages subscription status | App account identifier, subscription status and purchase history |
| Apple | App distribution, in-app purchase payment, push notification delivery (APNs), and Sign in with Apple | Purchase and payment information under Apple's own privacy policy; the identifier and optional email Apple provides when you sign in |
Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. Their privacy policies are at supabase.com/privacy, expo.dev/privacy, revenuecat.com/privacy and apple.com/legal/privacy.
Your partner will see the event fields listed in Section 1.1 for any calendar you choose to share.
We may also disclose information if required by law or valid legal process.
Data in Supabase is protected with row-level security rules designed so that only you and your paired partner can access your couple's shared events. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Data is sent between the app and our backend over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
Data stored in our backend is hosted in the United States (AWS us-east-1, via Supabase). If you use the app from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
We keep your account and shared data while your account exists. Shared events are updated as your selected calendars change. When you stop sharing a calendar, or events are removed or moved outside the shared time window, the corresponding events are removed from our backend at your next sync. When you unpair or delete your account, your uploaded events are deleted from our backend. Backups kept by our hosting provider may persist for a limited time under its own retention practices.
Entwined is designed for couples and is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and post the updated policy on this page. For material changes we will also tell you in the app..
